CARE GUIDE

preserving your LOGICAL deck

Keeping your Logical Decking in pristine condition is simple and quick. Follow our guidelines and you’ll enjoy a dazzling deck for decades to come.

daily care guidelines

It is best to clean your deck on the go to prevent dirt build-up, which will be tougher to remove. Besides spot cleaning, plan a thorough bi-annual clean to wash your entire deck.

general dirt and dust

As with any outdoor areas, your decking will collect dust and dirt over time. A simple spray-down with a hose will take care of most of the dirt. If any dirt remains in the grooves of your deck, use warm water, a gentle household cleaning solution, and a soft bristled brush to remove.

For more stubborn stains we recommend using a pressure washer at the lowest pressure setting, keeping the spray nozzle at least 25cm from the decking surface.Never power wash your decking as the combination of pressure and hot water might cause damage, which will void your warranty.

Spills

If you spill any food or beverages on your decking, clean it as soon as possible to avoid staining.

Easily remove spills with warm water and a gentle household cleaner.Use a pressure washer to clean tougher stains, keeping the pressure at the lowest setting and the nozzle at least 25cms from the decking surface.

Wine and oily substances have the potential of causing swift staining and should be cleaned immediately.

Tough Stains

Stubborn stains like rust and engrained dirt should never be removed with harsh chemicals, such as bleach.

These cleaning solutions can permanently lighten or damage your decking.Tougher stains can be removed with the same materials as other stains, but might require a longer brushing time.

Winter Upkeep

If you live in a snow-prone region, use a modest amount of rock salt to avoid ice build-up. After heavier snowfall, use a plastic shovel or broom to remove the snow build-up.

Rock salt might leave a white residue on your decking which can easily be sprayed off with a hose, or cleaned with warm water, a gentle cleaning solution and a soft brush.

Rust Prevention

It is best to avoid rust stains altogether by not using furniture or other items made from metals prone to rust.

No Painting or Staining

Logical Decking’s protective capping negates the need for painting or staining your deck.

Refrain from using paint or staining materials on or close to your deck as it won’t bond to the capped composite decking, which will cause unsightly peeling and flaking.

Natural Weathering

All our decking boards boast UV colour stability, which protects against the sun causing excessive fading.

As with any exterior applications exposed to the elements, your decking might slightly fade, depending on the extent of exposure to especially the sun.

This subtle fading is usually not visible to the human eye.Adhering to the above guidelines will ensure your deck remains as immaculate as on the day of installation.
